Cub Clubs

The DLC Art Club is an after-school club for 5th and 6th graders who have demonstrated talent or interest in the  Visual Arts. The club meets every other week to work on various art projects.

Dewey L. Carter Jr. Beta Club recognizes high academic achievement, promotes character and social responsibility, encourages service involvement in school and community, and fosters leadership skills. Students must have A/B Honor Roll, no Office Referrals, and must have scored Met or Exceeds on the SC Ready test.  Each month, Beta Club students complete some type of community service project. 

Chorus is a group that sings choral music, with a focus on proper vocal technique. Chorus meets every Wednesday from 2:30-3:30, and is open to any student in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade.

What is a 4-H Club?

4-H is a positive youth development organization. The 4-H activities at DLC include monthly meetings, educational instruction and much more. The club is often more open to doing a variety of 4-H projects and activities rather than emphasizing on one specific topic. It allows the child to be an individual while still learning those basic life skills that are so important. By becoming a member, youth will discover the possibilities of democratic citizenship, identify community needs, plan and execute service projects, and more.
